Apple is planning to hold annually iPod Media Event as early as on Thursday, September 7th, reports the Japanese site Kodawarisan. The next generation iPhone 5 is expected to be the cynosure of the event. Apple is also anticipated to announce cost-effective iPhone handset (probably iPhone 4S) along with fully baked iOS 5.
While this is an enticing tidbit of information coming directly from a source who once pinpointed the correct launch date of a new Mac mini computer in 2009, we can safely assume that the media event will take place on September 7th.
It is worth noting that Apple has always held their fall media events in the first part of September with the past three events taking place on September 1st, 2010, September 9th, 2009, and September 9th, 2008.
Apple hasn’t sent official invitations yet, but the iPod media event will likely take place in San Francisco, the scene of many such Apple events. In that case, the venue is likely to be the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
