Nicholas Allegra , popularly known as Comex among jailbreaking community is joining Apple as an intern, as confirmed by hacker himself via twitter account. He will start his internship from first week of September this year. This 19-year old teenager from New York was on leave from Brown University since last winter, and was looking for an internship.
That who is unaware, Comex is a prolific iPhone hacker, who has jailbroken Apple security multiple times including iPad 2, and was recently profiled by Forbes.
Last month, Comex released JailbreakMe 3.0 that helped over 2 million people to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch including second generation iPad. But, within nine days of its release, Apple rolled-out critical software update iOS 4.3.4 to patch the vulnerability being used by comex’s method.
Apple even credited Comex few days back for discovering the CoreGraphics (CVE-2011-0226) and IOMobileFrameBuffer (CVE-2011-0227) vulnerability (Saffron exploit) in an ultra secure iOS, used in JailbreakMe 3.0 on their support page. According to the Apple support, these exploits helps in viewing a maliciously crafted PDF file resulting in an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution by gaining system privileges.
Corporations are showing immense interest in snapping up the talented hackers. Few months back, Apple hired MobileNotifier developer Peter Hajas as an Apple summer intern and Facebook snapped iconic George Hotz aka Geohot.
