While Apple is yet to officially respond to iPhone location tracking saga, but despite being on a leave of absence from Apple, CEO Steve Jobs apparently has responded.

MacRumors is reporting that one of their readers sent an email to Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs, asking for clarification on iPhone location tracking, at the same, also hinting about a switch to Google’s Android if an explanation is not given.

Quote :
Q: Steve,
Could you please explain the necessity of the passive location-tracking tool embedded in my iPhone? It’s kind of unnerving knowing that my exact location is being recorded at all times. Maybe you could shed some light on this for me before I switch to a Droid. They don’t track me.
A: Oh yes they do. We don’t track anyone. The info circulating around is false.
Sent from my iPhone

While the authenticity of this email cant be verified at this point, but if it is to be believed, Jobs has denied the claim, implying the fact that Apple isn’t tracking iPhone or iPad users with the data stored locally on the device, while Google on the other hand does on Android phones for their core business, that is search and advertising
