If you haven’t managed to bag yourselves the beta version of iOS 4.3, you haven’t got too long to wait until the real real deal arrives on your iDevice. The update looks set to land on the 13th February, in a tie-in with the unveiling of the Apple iPad 2.

It looks like iOS 4.3 has some cool new gestures built specifically for the iPad. 4 & 5 finger gestures; pinch to the home screen, swipe up to reveal multitasking tray, swipe left/right to switch apps.
Even though Apple says the gestures are there, I can’t seem to be able to use them at all. They don’t work for me in Apple’s...

MuscleNerd tweeted about the release of the long-awaited RedSn0w jailbreak for iPhone 3.1.2. This version of RedSn0w is actually a beta version (redsn0w 0.9beta3) but it seems very stable from what I hear.

RedSn0w is a safer alternative to BlackRa1n to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone running OS 3.1.2.

Since it’s still a beta version, it hasn’t been posted on the Dev Team blog yet but more info about RedSn0w 0.9 beta 3 can be found here. If you’re...

That’s right, y’all. We’re back at it, and this time we’ve received some exclusive iPhone OS 4.0 details from one of our trusty Apple connects.
* There will be multi-touch gestures OS-wide. (Would make sense for that as the rumored OS for the iTablet is close if not the same as the iPhone)
* “A few new ways” to run applications in the background — multitasking.
* Many graphical...

  iNews Iphone-os-multitasking

When Apple unveils iPhone 4.0 software (still just a rumor) next week, we might be getting multitasking/background running applications, multi-touch support OS-wide, UI changes, and contact and calendar sync options, according to Boy Genuis Report.

The blog posted a collection of iPhone 4.0 features (with a screenshot to validate its source) we’re likely to see at next week’s highly anticipated Apple event, the most intriguing of which is multitasking.

In the US, it is 100% legal to unlock your phone no matters if it is iPhone or any other phone. In case of iPhone, you have to jailbreak it first to get it unlocked. So the question is Jailbreaking iPhone is Legal? And the answer is Yes, Jailbreaking is legal however, you technically “void” your warranty. In US laws are very strict for consumers rights. If you jailbreak, you only void your warranty if Apple can prove that the jailbreak is the reason that spoiled your phone (rare case jailbreaking damages your iPhone) only then they can cancel your warranty. A button falling off of a...

The iPhone-world is abuzz with rumors about a next-generation iPhone coming down the product pipeline. The discovery of an “iPhone 2,1″ device roaming the internets has sparked many to speculate that Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) might have a more powerful iPhone planned for launch this year. So, it was only a matter of time before iPhone “4G” concepts started to trickle into the blogosphere.

This concept image of an iPhone 4G (which is actually limited to 3G networks, and not compatible with 4G technologies as the name might suggest) that you see here takes Apple’s...

This beautiful concept, inspired by the curves and tapering of the Macbook Air coupled with the touch's back, is even better than the cool Macbook-inspired iPhone 4G we featured at the beginning of the month.

The thing that excites me most about these concepts, however, is not the aesthetic aspect of it. It's the the front camera and the fact that people seem to be excited about getting videoconferencing on the iPhone. Specially about the idea of interacting with...

by MeDevil :

I’ve just finished most of the User Interface and I’m now working on the daemon part. Splitting the UI from the stack is required for better perfomance and less bugs.
The new release will be ONLY compatible with 3.1 (and later) firmware and with the following devices: iPod Touch 2G (1G doesn’t have bluetooth), iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
Dropping the 2.x compatibility will allow me to better support 3.x devices.
As said before, the old license purchased for iBluetooth WILL STILL BE VALID for the newer 2.x version.
