Here’s some more interesting news about the iPhone 5 and the cheaper iPhone model. Earlier today we posted a leaked icon in a beta version of Photo Stream app which shows what the next-generation iPhone will look like. It comes with a more edge to edge screen and a rectangular button. The icon looked to have a larger screen than the current iPhone 4.

Again, an iPhone prototype lost in a bar.Well the story comes from CNET this time, they have discovered a new unreleased iPhone prototype lost in a bar in San Francisco. Apple today quietly pulled the plug on TV rentals via iTunes, Apple TV, and other devices, citing customer demand for purchases as the prime motivator. Company spokesman Tom Neumayr told us that “iTunes customers have shown they overwhelmingly prefer buying TV shows,” adding that “iTunes in the Cloud lets customers download and watch their past TV purchases from their iOS devices, Apple TV, and Mac or PC, allowing them to enjoy their programming whenever and however they choose.”

Jay Freeman, better known as Saurik, has filled a lawsuit in the hopes of obtaining rights to the Cydia.com domain name. Saurik owns Saurikit LLC, and he is filing his suit based on trademark infringement.

A report indicates that Apple has ordered its Asian manufacturers to produce a cheaper 8GB iPhone 4. Currently, the iPhone 4 is Apple's flagship smartphone and by releasing a cheap iPhone 4, Apple will break in to an entirely new market segment that it has previously kept itself out of.

According to a Japanese iPhone user who tipped off 9to5mac earlier today, iOS 5 (in Japan) includes an early earthquake warning notifications. According to the tipster, Japanese iPhone users can turn on this option at the very bottom of the iOS 5 Notification Center settings panel.
