Apple has not officially announced about the fifth generation iPhone but rumors on iPhone 5 is getting wilder on web.
Everyone was expecting that Apple will be releasing next iPhone at WWDC.However, Apple released iOS 5,iCloud and Mac Lion OS X at WWDC.Much coveted White iPhone 4 was launched in April hence launch of a new iPhone at WWDC made no sense.
One of the cool feature of iOS 5 is Notification System which is drop down Menu,Android style.It is not certain whether Apple is going to support third party Notification Widget in iOS 5 hence, jailbreak community have come up with Notification Widgets UISettings and RSSWidget to name a few which you can try by installing in your idevice.
iOS 5 will be released to public this fall and CNET UK reports that iPhone will be launched on September 7 and will be based on iOS 5.Earlier reports also suggested that iPhone 5 is in final testing stage as Apple and carrier high level executives are carrying iPhone 5.
iPhone 5 shipping starts September was also confirmed by Reuters.
The next iPhone will be powered with A5 processor, will work on both GSM/CDMA network
and will be launched on Verizon and AT&T on same day.
iPod event is scheduled for September and there are speculations that Apple is going to put off this event or pre-pone the event for the launch of iPhone 5.
Some analysts claimed that iPhone 5 will be launched in spring 2012.There is huge competition in market with the arrival of Android smartphones and Apple launched iPhone 4 last year so it is likely that next generation iPhone will be launched soon.

Brian White, an analyst for Ticonderoga Securities says,The next generation Apple iPhone will come out in September of this year, and that the recent launch of the White iPhone 4 lends credence to this point. He further says that iPhone 5 release has become more of a function of marketing and sales than technical.
