Apple was careful about managing expectations heading into the WWDC keynote. A week before the keynote, they spelled out exactly what they would talk about (OS X Lion, iOS 5, and iCloud) and also specifically omitted any reference to new hardware. We believe the reason for the candor was the public expectation that the WWDC keynote has always been the launchpad for the new iPhone.

Sources have told 9to5Mac that Apple will be holding one of their retail store overnights on Tuesday. Since Apple has a flurry of upcoming product releases, it is difficult to pinpoint exactly what Apple will be releasing – if anything, on Wednesday, June 15th. We first heard about this last week and figured it was OS X Lion related.

We’ve been hearing that FaceTime will work over 3G in iOS 5 but it will be up to carriers to allow it (like Tethering or VoIP apps). A reader sent in this screenshot (above) which seems to confirm that Apple plans on enabling FaceTime for those carriers that allow it.

iOS 5 has been jailbroken in less than 24 hours by renowned hacker ‘Musclenerd’ of iPhone Dev Team. The feat was achieved in less than 24 hours Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit and was confirmed by the hacker himself via tweet.
